BATON ROUGE, LA. (AP) - A person familiar with Patrick Peterson’s decision says the LSU star cornerback has decided to enter the NFL draft.

The person told The Associated Press about the decision on condition of anonymity because Peterson did not plan to announce his plans until Monday.

LSU has scheduled a media conference for Peterson on Monday, but the university is not discussing the player’s intentions at this time.

The 6-foot-1, 222-pound junior, who also handled kickoff and punt returns, routinely covered opponents’ top receivers one-on-one and is widely projected to be a first-round pick. He had four interceptions and returned two punts for touchdowns.
