KNOXVILLE, TENN. (AP) - Tennessee senior Matt Duffy has become just the second Volunteers player to hit for the cycle.

The third baseman from Milton, Mass., was 4-of-6 with a career-high three runs scored and four RBIs in Tennessee’s 18-4 victory against New Orleans on Wednesday night. Duffy had a double in the first inning, a triple in the fourth, a home run in the fifth and a single in the eighth.

Duffy says he knows his performance was a once-in-a-lifetime event and says the ball felt as big as a beach ball while he was hitting Wednesday.

Chris Burke, who played six seasons in the majors, is the only other Vols player to hit for the cycle, doing so against Vanderbilt on May 11, 2001.
