Prince George’s county police have arrested two men in connection with the January killing of a University of Maryland student, authorities announced Thursday.

Stephan Weaver, 22, of the 2600 block of Kinderbrook Lane in Bowie, and Deandre Ricardo Williams, 23, of the 5800 block of Field Place in Northeast D.C., have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing of Justin Vance Desha-Overcash.

Police say that on January 11, at about 11:27 a.m., officers responded to the 8800 block of 38th Avenue in College Park for a report of a shooting.

They found Mr. Desha-Overcash, 22, of the 8800 block of 38th Avenue in College Park suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives have determined the motive for the killing to be robbery.

Mr. Weaver is being held without bond in an Upper Marlboro jail. Williams was arrested in the District with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Department and was awaiting extradition.
