ATLANTA (AP) - Braves right-hander Brandon Beachy has left his start against the Philadelphia Phillies with an apparent injury.

Beachy pulled up in obvious discomfort after making a warmup pitch before the third inning of Friday night’s game. The rookie was removed from the game after conferring on the mound with manager Fredi Gonzalez, pitching coach Roger McDowell and assistant trainer Jim Lovell.

There was no immediate word on Beachy’s injury.

Right-hander Cristhian Martinez replaced Beachy, who gave up six hits and three runs in two innings. Beachy gave up a three-run homer to Ryan Howard in the first inning.

Beachy began the night 1-1 with a 2.98 ERA in seven starts.
