SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - In a story about Hewlett-Packard Co.’s finances, The Associated Press erroneously described former CEO Mark Hurd’s ouster as a “sacking.” HP’s board did not fire him but rather voted unanimously to request his resignation.

The story also should have been clearer about Hurd’s expense reports. The board found some of them to be inaccurate, but Hurd has said they were submitted by his staff, not by him personally.
