Montgomery County police say an 18-year-old was killed early Friday when the car he was driving hit a dump truck in Germantown.

Ivar Ramiro Candia, of the 18900 block of Grotto Lane in Germantown was traveling westbound on Middlebrook Road at about 1:05 a.m. when his 2003 Audi A4 collided in an intersection with a 2007 Mack dump truck traveling northbound on Germantown Road.

Police said the reason for the collision was still under investigation.

A passenger in the front seat of the Audi, Rodolfo Louis Nogales, 33, of the 19100 block of Warrior Brook Drive in Germantown, and a passenger in the back seat, Jonathan Candia, 17, of the 18900 block of Grotto Lane in Germantown, were transported to Suburban Hospital.

Mr. Nogales was listed in critical condition Friday morning, and Jonathan Candia was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the dump truck, Roger Terry Anthony, 58, of the 4300 block of Isleswood Terrace in Burtonsville, was not injured and remained at the scene.
