Two men were killed late Tuesday night in Prince George’s County in separate shootings in Oxon Hill and District Heights, according to authorities.
The first shooting was reported at 9:38 p.m. in District Heights. Prince George’s County police found a man suffering from gunshot wounds near an apartment complex playground in the 2100 block of County Road, said police spokesman Cpl. Henry Tippett.
Police identified the man as Marvin Tomlinson, 31, who lived nearby in the 6600 block of Atwood Street.
The shooting occured during an armed robbery, police said. Mr. Tomlinson died at the scene.
The second shooting happened about an hour and a half later in an Oxon Hill neighborhood near the Washington, D.C. border.
Police were called to the 700 block of Maury Avenue and found 51-year-old Andre Morton lying in the street and suffering from a gunshot wound, Cpl. Tippett said. He died at a local hospital.
According to court records, Mr. Morton had lived in the Glassmanor neighborhood where he was killed for a number of years. However, police said his last known address was in the 200 block of R Street in Northwest, Washington, D.C.
