INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Country duo Sugarland’s lead singer says she wept after the deadly stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair this summer and that she’ll always be connected with the people who were there.

Jennifer Nettles says in an interview to air Tuesday night on ABC’s “In The Spotlight With Robin Roberts” that she didn’t see the stage rigging be blown onto fans awaiting the Aug. 13 concert because band members were still underneath the stage.

WRTV reports ( https://bit.ly/vfpyEL) that Nettles says she has no words for the tragedy and “power of nature” that she first saw from news coverage that night.

Seven people were killed and dozens injured in the collapse. Sugarland returned to Indianapolis last month for a benefit concert.
