A book by former Maryland Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. is scheduled for release in December. The book is titled “Turn This Car Around: The Roadmap to Restoring America.”

Mr. Ehrlich, a Republican, says the book includes personal anecdotes and a libertarian-influenced view on such issues the debate on multiculturalism and the failures of public education in urban areas.

Mr. Ehrlich was elected in 2002 as Maryland’s first GOP governor in nearly four decades. After losing to Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley in 2006 and last year, Mr. Ehrlich now says he has no interest in elected office or state politics, preferring instead to become part of the national discourse.

Mr. Ehrlich urges “the American public to make a real change and address (with him) the issues of union strangleholds, Obamacare, a failed stimulus package, soaring energy costs and high unemployment, the race-card, the living wage war, bipartisanship and other heated topics,” writes BenBella Books, the Dallas-based boutique publisher.

Mr. Ehrlich, a four-term congressman before becoming governor, now works as a lawyer at King & Spalding in Washington.
