ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Occupy Wall Street and other Occupy movements around the country have called for big demonstrations to be held on May 1. Leap year 2012 has 366 days, so why did they pick May 1, the communist holiday, for Occupy demonstrations around the country? Is it a subtle way of declaring they actually are communists?

It stands to reason with all of the talk about socialism in our country these days that the Occupiers could be feeling a sense of power. I’m sure the far left and some liberals are very happy about all of this, but I’m also sure the majority of the American people aren’t pleased. They realize any type of socialism is the archenemy of capitalism and our way of life.

There is, however, a day in May that the majority of Americans truly hold dear: Memorial Day. On May 28, all Americans who are proud to be Americans should turn out in huge numbers to demonstrate their support for our country and their never-ending gratitude to all of those troops who have given their lives fighting the enemies of our country over the years.
