Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Monday there will be no changes made to his staff during the team’s bye week.

“No,” he said flatly. “There will be no changes.”

With the Redskins at 3-6 after losing what he called a “must-win game” against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Shanahan began his weekly news conference clarifying comments made following the defeat about the season turning to evaluating players. He explained that he meant players, coaches and schemes would be evaluated during the bye week.

Evaluation is coming, but oft-criticized defensive coordinator Jim Haslett and defensive backs coach Raheem Morris will not be losing their jobs. The Redskins rank 30th in the league in pass defense.

“I’m not even going to talk in that direction,” Shanahan said. “My focus is one thing and that’s Philly, getting ready for them.”
