Many are advocating a radical change in civilization that will have profound consequences for us all. There is a reason no civilization in all of human history has supported the idea of homosexual “marriage.” On the whole, the redefinition of marriage is unfair, unwise and destructive, particularly for our children.

Recent news clarified what is at the core of this civilization-altering proposal to redefine marriage. It is tied intimately into the drive to eradicate male-female distinctions. Along with the redefinition goes the argument that there is no difference between man and woman, boy and girl, mother and father. It’s all only a matter of plumbing. This month, France declared that any official public documents will no longer be allowed to contain the words “mother” or “father.” Homosexuals wishing to “marry” may argue that it is unfair that throughout history, we have organized marriage and family around the bond between a man and a woman, but many standards and laws are unfair to various segments of society.

It is profoundly more unfair to more people to radically alter the definition of fundamental concepts and leave our children with the notion that the terms “mommy” and “daddy” have no meaning. While some of us may call the redefining of marriage “progressive,” millions of us call it clearly unfair, unwise and quite “regressive.”
