A hacker has broken into The Associated Press’ Twitter account, sending out a false message that there were two explosions at the White Hosue Tuesday afternoon and President Obama was injured. As a result, the stock market fell more than 150 points, but then quickly recovered when the hoax was uncovered.

AP White House reporter Julie Pace quickly told reporters gathered for the daily briefing with White House spokesman Jay Carney that AP’s account had been hacked, and the messages are false.

Mr. Carney said he was just with Mr. Obama and can confirm that the president “is fine.”
