HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - A 19-year-old Olive Branch man has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance of parole.

The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1hv0uHD) Circuit Court Judge Robert Chamberlin sentenced Charles Dalton Shoemake on Monday.

Shoemake pleaded guilty on Jan. 14 to the murder of Paul Victor III, his 21-year-old neighbor. After Victor was beaten and strangled, his body was dumped in Shelby County and set on fire on Jan. 21, 2012. He was discovered by a jogger.

Shoemake and 24-year-old Nicholas McDaniel Walker were arrested and charged soon after the 2012 slaying. Walker has not entered a plea, and his trial has been set for May 5.
