ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - An American Legion post in the Willamette Valley whose building burned in an arson fire four years ago is on the verge of closing its club because of financial difficulties.

The Democrat-Herald (https://bit.ly/1hyKjL5 ) reports that leaders of Albany American Legion Post 10 will meet with members Monday to recommend closing as of April 21.

That would mean shutting down the bar and kitchen for daily use. Other activities and events wouldn’t be affected. The baseball team the post sponsors would have to find another spot for monthly meetings.

After the fire, the post rebuilt in 2013 at the same location, but it is still in debt from the $2.1 million project. Costs were higher than expected, and membership dropped, reducing income.
