MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Police say part of northbound Interstate 89 between Barre and Berlin is now cleared for traffic in both lanes following a gas spill.

It had been reduced to one lane of traffic for several hours while crews cleaned up the spill.

Troopers found a disabled tractor trailer leaking fuel just south of exit seven Friday morning. The driver told police a metal object on the roadway hit and punctured one of the fuel tanks on the tractor.

Crews cleaned about 75 gallons of diesel fuel from the scene.

Police say the driver of the tractor trailer has not been issued any traffic violations.
