BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota’s spring wild turkey hunting season is getting underway.

The season opened Saturday and runs through May 18. The state this year made 5,880 turkey licenses available, a drop of 50 from last year.

The state Game and Fish Department says turkey populations statewide are relatively stable, though population trends have shifted in recent years.
