BLACKMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Road construction is coming to US-127 in Jackson County this week.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says work is to begin Monday.

The plan is to rebuild 4 miles of the highway between Parnall and Henry roads, north of Jackson, along with ramp reconstruction at Parnall Road and the M-50 interchange.

Construction will take place in stages to minimize the impact on residents and motorists.

Starting this week, crews will upgrade the outside shoulders along US-127 and construct temporary median crossovers.

One lane of traffic will be open in each direction during construction.
