PICAYUNE, Miss. (AP) - A former employee with the city of Picayune has been arrested for lying on time records filed to so he would paid for work he didn’t do.

State Auditor Stacey Pickering says in a news release that Gregory Kerr was booked into the Pearl River County jail on Monday.

Pickering says the 48-year-old Kerr was indicted in April on one felony count of false statements and representations and one felony count of false pretense.

Pickering says Kerr allegedly falsified his time records to receive payment for work that he did not provide to the city of Picayune. This occurred from April 2012 through his termination on July 2, 2012.
