COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The MLS disciplinary committee has fined Columbus Crew defender Giancarlo Gonzalez an undisclosed amount for embellishment intended to deceive the referee.
The infraction took place in the 92nd minute of the game against the San Jose Earthquakes on April 13. The match ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Crew leads the Eastern Conference with a record of 3-1-1 and 10 points heading into Saturday’s home game against D.C. United.
