TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Forecasters are predicting another cold night across New Jersey after snow and ice coated spring flowers in parts of the state.

Trained spotters reported an inch and a half of snow in Vernon in Sussex County and an inch in Manalapan in Monmouth County. Traces of snow were reported in Atlantic, Burlington Camden, Middlesex and Morris counties.

Motorists had to scrape their windshields. Road crews were busy treating highways, where driving conditions were slick. Untreated sidewalks were slippery.

Forecasters say Wednesday’s temperatures will drop from the upper 40s to the 20s and 30s overnight, with freezing conditions on Thursday morning.
