ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Supreme Court has upheld a judge’s decision to disqualify legislative candidate Algin Mendez on grounds that the Espanola Democrat didn’t file enough valid signatures on his nominating petitions.

Disqualification of Mendez leaves Democratic state Rep. Carl Trujillo as the only candidate in House District 46.

The Albuquerque Journal (https://ow.ly/vTRzP ) reports that the state high court’s ruling on Mendez’s appeal was unanimous.
