FREMONT, N.C. (AP) - The touring exhibit of artifacts from Blackbeard’s pirate ship is coming to the Aycock Birthplace State Historic Site in Fremont.

The exhibit of artifacts from the Queen Anne’s Revenge opens Saturday and continues through May 24. It includes items such as gold dust, glass beads and a cannon ball.

The state Department of Cultural Resources is organizing the tour of artifacts at state historic sites. It continues through September.

The Charles B. Aycock State Historic Site is named after a former governor and interprets the life of an 1870s family farm in eastern North Carolina.

The Queen Anne’s Revenge sank in 1718. The shipwreck was discovered in 1996.
