TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (AP) - The first Love’s Travel Stop for the Shoals region of northwest Alabama is set to open later this year.

The TimesDaily reports (https://bit.ly/1jixeB8) that the new travel stop is being built at the intersection of Three Mile Lane and Alabama 157, near Longhorn Arena.

Love’s spokeswoman Kealy Dorian said the company has eight other locations in Alabama, but most are on or near an interstate. Oklahoma City-based Love’s has 300 travel stops and convenience stores in 39 states.

Company officials say the travel stop will have a large store featuring standard convenience store fare, souvenirs, electronics, gift items, clothing and other merchandise. It also will have a McDonald’s and Subway restaurants.

Also planned are 76 semitrailer parking spaces, showers for drivers and a tire repair area for truckers.
