MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Murray State University is open again after a three-hour lockdown following a report of a man carrying a gun on campus.

University spokeswoman Catherine Sivills told the Murray Ledger & Times (https://bit.ly/1ebHJVf ) that police took one person into custody Tuesday night and questioned him. No information about the person taken into custody was immediately released.

Director of Emergency Management Jeff Stein says a caller reported a man carrying what appeared to be a “long gun” on campus at about 7:30 p.m.

Officers asked students to remain indoors, while police patrolled the residential side of campus. A campus-wide lockdown went into effect while officers conducted their search.

The school lifted the lockdown at about 10:15 p.m.
