BASTROP, La. (AP) - The Morehouse Parish School Board has voted on a plan to tackle its $3.4 million deficit for the upcoming operating year.

The final cost-reduction plan includes closing Southside Elementary School, reducing the workforce and moving to a four-day work week.

The board’s decisions merged plans from Superintendent George Noflin and community members that have been in the making since October.
