ADA, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Norman man was killed when the stock car he was driving crashed during a race near Ada.

An OHP report says 57-year-old Jerry Harkrider was pronounced dead on arrival at an Ada hospital after crashing at Ada Sports Park about 10:40 p.m. Saturday. The park is about 10 miles northwest of Ada in Pontotoc County.

The report says car Harkider was racing went off the track, then went airborne before crashing.
