ATLANTA (AP) - DeKalb County authorities say a man who shot and killed a person who he thought was breaking into his car has been charged with murder.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://bit.ly/1f8DUX2) police spokesman Capt. Stephen Fore said 26-year-old Quintavious Judon was dining at South DeKalb Mall on Wednesday night when he saw someone trying to enter his red Dodge Charger, which was parked in the parking lot.

Fore said Judon confronted the man, there was an altercation and Judon pulled a gun and shot the other man. Fore said the suspect tried to flee in a vehicle, but collapsed and wrecked the car. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Authorities have not named the dead man.
