BENTON, La. (AP) - Authorities in Bossier Parish say they have arrested 49 people - most of them on felony drug charges - in a day-long roundup of suspects following an 11-month investigation.

A news release from Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington said agents with the Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force teamed with other area law enforcement agencies Wednesday to make the arrests.

Whittington said Thursday that methamphetamine charges accounted for about 60 percent of the arrests. Other charges involved cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs.
