PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - A man has been arrested in last week’s shooting death of 17-year-old Gabriel Calderon of Prescott Valley.

Prescott Valley police said Friday that 23-year-old Richard Quiroz was arrested after a warrant was issued Thursday.

Gabriel Calderon was found April 16 with multiple gunshot wounds and died the next day at a Phoenix hospital.

Police say when a team of officers tried to arrest the Prescott Valley man in the Congress area, his vehicle rammed an officer’s car. But Richard Quiroz and 22-year-old Chris Quiroz, who was also in the car, were eventually arrested.

Richard Quiroz faces first degree murder and witness tampering charges, while Chris Quiroz faces unrelated felony drug charges.

Police say anti-drug officers also took part in the investigation.
