What is expected to be a stormy weekend is underway in Texas, and eyes should remain to the skies with severe storms expected in West Texas on Saturday and in North and East Texas on Sunday.

The National Weather Service says a disturbance Saturday evening will bring blowing dust and heightened fire danger to the South Plains and Panhandle and a slight thunderstorm threat from the Concho Valley to Childress and Wichita Falls. That threat will linger and move east Sunday with the dry line, a boundary between moist and dry air that often triggers severe storms and tornadoes.

Forecasters say the greatest threat of severe weather, including tornadoes, will be in the Ark-La-Tex area around Texarkana on Sunday.
