TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Tupelo authorities say all lanes of a segment of U.S. Highway 78 have been closed for investigation and cleanup after two trucks collided Thursday.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (https://bit.ly/QJ8prN) the highway was expected to reopen in the early evening. The road was closed between Auburn Road and Veterans Boulevard.

One of the trucks was carrying cleaning chemicals and some spilled after the wreck. A hazardous materials team was sent to clean up the spill but no injuries were reported, investigators say.

Traffic was being rerouted in the area.
