LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A tornado watch has been extended until midnight for a large part of Arkansas.

The tornado watch issued Thursday includes roughly the western two-thirds of the state, though it stretches as far east as Batesville and Searcy.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., says tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds are expected in the Ozarks region. The developing threat is part of a massive weather system that’s forecast to also affect a large part of the Mid-South and the lower Ohio Valley.
