PORT ORFORD, Ore. (AP) - Port Orford Mayor Jim Auborn appears to have survived a recall vote.

The World newspaper of Coos Bay (https://is.gd/eVfcsg ) reports that 204 people voted to oust him from office while 215 voted against the recall.

A representative from the Curry County clerk’s office says it will take several days for the vote to become final.

Port commissioner Brett Webb filed the recall petition. He said the mayor was trying to impose the creation of a marine sanctuary on the people of Port Orford.
