SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - U.S. Senate candidate Larry Pressler is running a TV ad featuring his refusal to take a bribe during the 1970s Abscam public corruption sting while previously serving in Congress.

The clip includes former TV anchor Walter Cronkite’s coverage of Pressler at the time.

The independent candidate says the ad buy of $50,000 is running statewide and is intended to show his fiscal conservatism and honesty.

Pressler is on the November ballot with former Republican Gov. Mike Rounds, Democrat Rick Weiland and fellow independent Gordon Howie.
