ASHLAND, Neb. (AP) - People are being invited to run for wildlife during Run Wild at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park in eastern Nebraska and help celebrate Threatened and Endangered Species Day.

The event is scheduled for May 17 at the park near Ashland. People may choose from a 10k or 5k trail run. There also is a 1-mile children’s fun run.

Proceeds benefit the Wildlife Conservation Fund, which works to save Nebraska’s wildlife and wild places.
