Tom Moran, editor of the editorial page at the New Jersey Star-Ledger, said the George Washington Bridge scandal is just one reason why the newspaper rescinded its endorsement of of Gov. Chris Christie on Sunday.

Mr. Moran said the governor’s misuse of Hurricane Sandy relief aid also contributed to the newspaper editors saying they blew it with their endorsement of Mr. Christie.

“The recovery effort here has been pretty seriously botched,” he said Monday on CNN. “We’ve still got thousands of families out of their home with not enough money to put them back.”

He also said he was waiting to pass judgement on whether the governor knew about the bridge closure before it happened until “serious evidence” comes out.

However, whether he knew it or not, the fact that people in his office ordered it “counts against him pretty seriously,” Mr. Moran said.
