LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Japanese slot machine maker has donated $2.5 million to the hotel administration school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The gift from Konami Gaming, Inc. to the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration was announced Monday.

The money will fund the construction of a new academic building called Hospitality Hall.

Harrah graduate Thomas Jingoli, who is now a chief compliance officer for Jingoli, says the gift is an investment in future industry leaders.

The new building is expected to include classroom, laboratory and meeting spaces. The project is expected to cost $50 million, with $30 million in public funding and $20 million in private support.
