GLASTONBURY, Conn. (AP) - Glastonbury police say a 12-year-old local girl was sexually assaulted by a Hartford man after they met on a smartphone chat application and later got together in person.

Police say they charged 24-year-old Mijael Fabian on Sunday with enticing a minor into sexual activity, risk of injury to a minor and misdemeanor sexual assault. Fabian posted $150,000 bail and is to be arraigned Feb. 26 in Manchester Superior Court.

Authorities say Fabian and the girl met by chatting on the Kik Messenger application. Police say they eventually met in person and Fabian sexually assaulted her.

Police say the girl’s mother called them after discovering explicit photos on her daughter’s phone.

Fabian couldn’t be reached Tuesday. There’s no phone listing for him and it’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
