HOOPESTON, Ill. (AP) - No students were seriously injured in an eastern Illinois school bus accident that involved a cow.

Hoopeston (HOOPS-tuhn) Area School District Superintendent Hank Hornbeck says the bus struck a loose cow Tuesday morning. The Commercial-News in Danville reports (https://bit.ly/1kzJGBZ) that the accident happened on Illinois Route 9 near Hoopeston.

Hornbeck says no one was seriously injured and four students were taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures. Parents were notified and another bus came to take students to school.

Hornbeck says the cow was the only casualty.
