MONROE, La. (AP) - The Monroe City Council pulled an item seeking proposals for an intermodal facility from Tuesday night’s agenda.

Public Works Director Tom Janway said the final changes to the advertisement seeking qualifications had not been updated, so he asked the council to delay it until next meeting.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/MbXJ23 ) Mayor Jamie Mayo’s administration wants to hire a consultant who specializes in traffic management to perform a study that would determine the cost of a new facility, where it would be located and funding sources available to pursue the project.

The new facility also would include a parking garage.

The proposed new intermodal facility would serve as a new Monroe Transit System terminal that also would accommodate Greyhound bus service.
