OXFORD, Maine (AP) - Authorities say a man had to be flown to a Portland hospital with a serious head injury after a two-vehicle crash in Oxford.

Police say a car pulled out of Oxford Street and onto Route 26 and was struck by a tow truck at about 4 p.m. Monday.

The driver of the car was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland. His female passenger was transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Their names were not released.

The tow truck driver was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation, but police say it does not appear alcohol or speed were factors.
