CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The attorneys arguing a case in a Charleston courtroom might appear on the younger side.

They’ll be students from Stonewall Jackson Middle School and they’re due in Circuit Court on Wednesday for a West Virginia Supreme Court program that gives young people hands-on experience in the justice system.

The mock trial is part of a program funded by the West Virginia Bar Foundation. Called “West Virginia Law Adventure,” students write one of several criminal case scripts. They then argue their case in court.

A bar group chooses winners, who then move on to the big stage - the West Virginia Supreme Court.
