SALEM, Ore. (AP) - Oregon Institute of Technology men’s basketball coach Danny Miles became just the third coach at a four-year program to reach 1,000 career wins with a 71-51 victory over Corban on Saturday night.

The 68-year old Miles has spent his entire career at Oregon Tech, where he has won three NAIA Division II national championships (2004, 2008 and 2012) and recorded 10 seasons with 30 wins or more. He has been chosen as the NAIA Coach of the Year three times.

Harry Statham of Division II McKendree University in Illinois is the only other men’s coach to with at least 1,000 wins. He is currently in his 48th season at the school and won his 1,176th game on Jan. 23.

Former Tennessee women’s coach Pat Summit, who won 1,098 games from 1974-2012, is the winningest Division I coach of all time.
