MILFORD, Conn. (AP) - A Metro-North train has struck a car at a crossing in Milford, but authorities say nobody was injured.

The train had left Waterbury and was traveling to Bridgeport when it struck the car shortly before 1 p.m. Friday.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman Aaron Donovan says the train carrying 75 to 80 people continued on its route after a delay of about an hour.

Donovan says the state Department of Transportation has indicated that the crossing signals were functioning as intended. An investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
