HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Navistar International Corp. is eliminating 280 jobs from its Huntsville manufacturing operations as it shifts some engine production work to Illinois.
The company says it is moving production of its mid-sized motor from the Tennessee Valley to Melrose Park, Ill.
The 280 jobs will be phased out in Huntsville by summer. But Navistar says it will continue building its large, 13-liter engines in Huntsville.
Navistar employs about 480 workers in all at Jetplex Industrial Park.
