BERKSHIRE, Vt. (AP) - A school bus crash in the northern Vermont town of Berkshire has sent about five elementary school children to the hospital.

A spokesman for the Northwest Regional Hospital in St. Albans says the hospital is treating five children with a range of injuries.

Police say it does not appear that any of the injuries are life-threatening.

Authorities say the bus was carrying children from the Berkshire Elementary School when it went off the road and rolled over Friday afternoon. The school bus driver told police that she lost control of the bus after the front tire hit the shoulder of the road. The bus landed on its side in a snowbank.

Police say multiple children were jarred from their seats.

The crash is being investigated.
