SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A longtime furniture factory in Santa Fe is considered a total loss after a fire reduced it to ashes and debris.
KOB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1e3FZkv) firefighters spent 15 hours early Friday trying to control the blaze at Hands of America furniture maker.
Authorities say the fire at the 4,000-square-foot factory was reported just before 10 p.m. Thursday.
Firefighters say they encountered flames between 30 and 40 feet high.
They say the intensity was partially due to piles of wood and debris.
They say the damage could have been worse had the fire occurred the night before, when wind gusts were nearly 60 mph.
The cause is still under investigation.
