COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A man is facing a drunken driving charge in a wrong-way Richland County crash that killed another driver on Interstate 20.
Highway Patrol Lance Cp. Sonny Collins says 51-year-old Jesse Samuels Jr. has been charged with felony driving under the influence.
Collins says the crash happened at around 5:30 a.m. He says Samuels was driving his pickup truck east in the westbound lane of I-20 when he hit another truck.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says the other driver, 41-year-old Donald Jerome Ford, was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
It wasn’t known if Samuels had an attorney.
