CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Jackson County soon will be home to a new plastics manufacturing company.

Technology Plastics LLC plans to begin operations later this year in Millwood.

Managing member Doug Ritchie tells the Charleston Daily Mail (https://bit.ly/1mCJvI6 ) that the company will initially employ 15 people. He says the company could begin production in the third quarter.

Technology Plastics will manufacture plastic lids for commercial-sized metal waste bins used by commercial and municipal waste haulers.

Ritchie says the company will buy raw materials from Star Plastics. Ritchie founded Star Plastics in 1988 but he says the two companies will operate independently.

The state Department of Environmental Protection issued a notice of intent to approve Technology Plastics‘ air quality permit last week.
